Creating a Requisition (Posting a Job)

You can create requisitions via the Quick Job Posting widget, on the Create Requisition screen, or on the Copy a Requisition screen. The terms “requisition” and “job” are used interchangeably in Talent Management.

After you create the requisition, the following occur depending on the workflow and your permission level.

Action/Condition What to Expect
You routed the requisition to other users for completion Each user receives an email message informing them that action is required. In addition, they can see that you routed the requisition to them in their My Drafts section, as well as the Manage Requisitions screen via the Quick Filter option, Routed to Me.

You can see confirmation that you routed this requisition in the My Drafts section of the Create Requisitions screen.

The Workflow requires an approval process The designated approvers receive an email message indicating the requisition name and the creation date.

Whether the requisition is approved or rejected, you receive an email message notifying you of the disposition.

You might be allowed to resubmit a rejected requisition, if a provision to do so is designated in the workflow. To resubmit requisitions via the Manage Requisitions screen, set the Quick Filter option to Pending Review/Rejected. If the workflow does not allow resubmissions, then you must create a new requisition.

No approvals are necessary The job is automatically posted. Depending on the statues specified in the Status option for the requisition, it becomes visible to external job seekers or is only available to employees. You can manage the requisition and view its activity on the Manage Requisitions screen.
